I bought an old late 60's 70's Guild case to better suit my 70's Guild guitar. I knew it was rough and that's why i wanted it. However, it pongs a bit. Any tips on getting rid of the musty smell inside?

Activated charcoal is supposed to be good - never tried it though. No doubt Amazon sell it!

Whatever you try, do not use any chemical cleaning solutions as many will react with the guitar finishes. I'd just give it a clean with warm water on a sponge and then leave it open in a warm atmosphere for a while. Keith's idea would be a good first try.

I've used tissues infused with essential oils before, locked in the case for a bit.
There's also this idea I found elsewhere...
Get 2 or 3 very small bowls and fill each one halfway with PURE vanilla extract (not imitation). Set them inside the case, put the case somewhere that it won't be disturbed (you don't want to spill inside the case obviously), close it and let it sit for 48 hours.
or
sprinkle a 50/50 mix of baking soda and cinnamon
or
a Bounce dryer sheet, closed inside the case for a couple of days

I’ll do all them at once as it really does pong.
