I agree take it to a professional. On the weekend I’m picking my Santa Cruz 00 up from Luke Kallquist a Brisbane Luthier. He’s just done a refret, put a cleat under the soundboard and made a new saddle. Kallquistguitars.com

I always take mine to a man who knows what they are doing. Could be several things. Very good advice!

That doesn't look right and i know nothing really. Ah but you have made a very astute correct assessment of the situation! Dropped it off on Saturday with Jim Fleeting in Stockport who shrugged it off as normal gutar shifting/settling and assured me that a regular set up would sort it all out. If his work is anywhere as good as what a nice guy he is we'll be sorted very soon!!

I'm glad you decided to do that. A good setup is worth its weight in gold!

I'm glad you decided to do that. A good setup is worth its weight in gold! I always take all my guitars for a setup when i first get them. I know a chap who has some lovely guitars but never gets any of them set up. They all play terrible. Factory setup isn’t always best.

That’s putting things mildly. At times!

Update... Picked it up this morning and it's playing like a charm...strings now parallel to the neck all sorted... Looks like he's shaved the saddle within an inch of of it's life so sounds like ocarolan was on the right track. Thanks to Riverman for the recomendation!

OP, as you appear to be in Manchester, give Jim Fleeting a call, he's in Stockport. I've used him twice now and can recommend him highly. He had the neck off a '46 000-18 when I was last there a few months back, he knows what he's doing and yours would be easier as it's a bolt neck, I believe.

**EDIT - Seems I should have read page 2 of the thread and you appear to have met Jim already. He's a good lad and is able to sort most issues.
