Now then. I'm looking at two gig bags for my prized Eastwood 322, Armourdillo Defender, and Gator GPG Pro-go Ultimate (What an awful name). Why? Well so; Easier to put in cars than a hard case, which I have. More voluminous pockets for tablet, capo, lunch, toolkit, spare strings, mic stand, PA, Bear spray and sweeties, and, of course, it's lighter weight. What is it that you are thinking, folks? Which one would you go for, or would you choose something quite different? I was joking about the Capo, strings, sweets and tools, btw.

Mono cases are really good quality.

I can endorse what bellyshere says. I have two mono cases, the OM and D sizes which I have been very happy with for a number of years They haven't begun to show any significant signs of wear and offer good protection for the guitar's neck and heel and have plenty of storage for bits and pieces

Hi,
Been wondering myself.Just had a look at Mono on line as result of this thread thanks. Look great but pricey (for me). Anyone know others that are perhaps more in the £50-£100 range? (Doesn't need to be thrown around an airplane etc)

I have had a Gator pro go. It protects the guitar very well, has loads of pockets and a plethora of straps. It isn’t light, though. And it is very bulky But I guess protecting the guitar increases the padding material and hence, the weight and volume.
Mine started to wear rather badly after maybe 4 years. I replaced it with a Fusion case but I don’t like that one as much. I will get another ProGo when I get around to it and flog the Fusion.
I’ve not tried the Armourdillo, nor the Mono, but I can recommend the Gator.

I have bags by Mono and Reunion Blues and they’re superb. Very protective though not cheap. I’ve bought mine used via gumtree and eBay and got them for less than half price

Apparently Mono cases also float should you find yourself falling in a canal.

No beer involved. The sorry saga is explained in a rider to a "Narrow Boat Session " that I did a few years ago By the way the Mono is quite a good flotation device

I justdid loads of research on all price levels of gigbags and came to realise that more money doesn’t always mean more quality, BUT the very cheap end of the market is rubbish (speaking from experience!). The best I have recently found, and I bought one, is the Gewa Premium from Thomann. It has many of the same quality features as others costing much more. Whether it stands the test of time remains to be seen. Here it is: www.thomann.de/gb/gewa_acoustic_gigbag_premium_20.htmIf you can find a good used top-of-the-range Tribal Planet bag (they are no longer made) grab one! I have had one for years and it has survived many festivals, needing only one small handle repair. If you don’t mind advertising Taylor guitars, their gigbags are great quality, nicely rigid and not too expensive.

An interesting bag that from Thomann for the price but it isn't in the same league as the Mono. The padding doesn't looks as substantial to me and the neck support system certainly isn't. The neck support on the Mono system is what really makes the bag. I also notice there is no comment about whether this bag is water resistant or waterproof, something that seems pretty critical for those on canal barges .... I wouldn't be trusting my guitar to one of these but I am considering a Mono.
