Well, not that new. It's rather been through the wars. I got this Takamine G-series for not-very-much money from a new guitar place that's opened up in a local market. I was looking to replace an Epiphone I take to open mics to lend out, but don't really like playing. So I popped in & played a few things he had, but nothing really spoke to me. I actually laughed when he pulled this out - it was mucky, beside the homemade neck repair, it was full of holes where someone had pulled the original electrics out & also one where it had been dropped, but when I played it it was far & away the best sounding instrument he had. So here it is: £85, for the guitar, the pickup including installation, the holes filled, a good clean & a set-up. I'll probably tinker a little with the set-up & I'm going to swap out the soundhole pickup for a JJB bridge plate pickup (as discussed in this thread). The soundhole pickup he put in is the same one I have in the Epiphone, but with this being a better guitar acoustically, I'd like to at least try and capture that amplified.

I’m thinking “Willie Pistol” or “SeaSick Pete”.

Nice one, Pete. Maybe you could have the holes for the electrics cut into a port.
Is the market Stafford or maybe Penkridge? Just that I'll be over that way next week.

I’m thinking “Willie Pistol” or “SeaSick Pete”. This was more the 'Seasick Pete' era: Nice one, Pete. Maybe you could have the holes for the electrics cut into a port. Is the market Stafford or maybe Penkridge? Just that I'll be over that way next week. To be fair, although it's not the prettiest repair I'm pretty happy to live with it as it is now. This was Fret Factory in Tunstall market (one of the 6 towns of Stoke-on-Trent). There is a guitar guy in Stafford market too, who usually has a slightly bigger selection. If you are over this way, feel free to pop into one of my open mic nights & say hello (Slater's, 8.30pm Tuesdays; Market Vaults, 9.30pm Thursdays; Bear & Pheasant, 9.30pm Fridays - all in Stafford )
