This could be the type of nylon guitar for me. Or any crossover/clasical with 620-630mm scale length/slimmer neck (C or tapered D if possible but anything slimmer than a 'regulation' classical guitar neck)/ a nut width less than 2 inches or 51 ish mm. 45-48mm might do it. Electrics optional. Have you seen the Harley Benton hybrids (Thomann's in-house brand)? They make quite a few. Some bowl-back some not. They very cheap and are subject to their no-quibbles 30-day returns policy, so if you don't like it you just send it back, which is a nice level of reassurance for an online-only company. I have in the past been guilty of using Thomann's returns policy simply as a way of having guitars delivered to my door to try out. Though you do have to pay return postage. www.thomann.de/gb/4-4_size_classical_guitars.html?filter=true&manufacturer%5B%5D=Harley%20BentonThis thread has started a hybrid itch for me. What's the setup like on the Harley Benton Guitars?

I haven't played the Harley Benton hybrids I'm afraid, just watched a couple of YouTube vids of them. But I have played this Harley Benton OM: www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_custom_line_cla_28ve_wn.htmAnd I own this Harley Benton parlour: www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_custom_line_clp_15m.htmSetup was fine on both of them. They were both perfectly acceptable straight out of the box (and both were B-stock versions too). I haven't made any adjustments to the CLP15M. Reports I've heard completely vary about HBs - a lot of buyers insist that adjusting setup and action is part and parcel of buying a Harley Benton but that's not been my experience.

Nice score on the Alvarez. No affiliation to these but I’ll throw Hanika guitars in the ring if anyone is looking for a crossover Nylon string. These are built in Germany and you can order the guitar how you like it, scale/nut width/neck profile/cutaway/pickups/tone woods. I thought the pricing was reasonable too considering how much you could customise it. I got the 58pf model 48mm nut and 620mm scale as I just couldn’t get away with standard classical Here’s mine played in front of a H4n and sm58

I'm confused about hybrid guitars - Do they need both petrol AND charging up at Waitrose?

I'm still looking for a hybrid. Hopefully after I've paid off the Christmas credit I'll be in a position to get one. Mrs Abbott says I might get lucky and bag a New Year sale bargain. I told her that you might get New Year sales bargains for shoes, clothes and handbags....but sale bargains of guitars are fairly rare.
