Some good straightforward pieces to play in DADGAD - free TAB to download. Nice tunes. Simon Fox DADGADJonny

His free guide to playing DADGAD is very good, too, especially the section on Celtic ornamentation. Some excellent suggestions for getting a handle on this.

I especially like "Nightfishing", but have always found "A winters tale" a bit of a stretch.

I especially like "Nightfishing", but have always found "A winters tale" a bit of a stretch. Bloody hell! I've been working on 'Nightfishing' and 'The Fisherman' for a while, but I just tried 'A Winter's Tale' for the first time. That 2nd fret partial barre with a 6th fret stretch, even with a capo, is absolutely diabolical. Especially in a quiet intro section. I think I'll go and soak my left hand in warm water. Kym

Kym Kym, I found that holding the neck in a more classical position really helps with that stretch.

Kym Perhaps play it capoed on the 5h fret for a while, then 4th fret, then eventually the 3rd fret - such a good piece, shame to let sheer agony put you off!!!! Jonny
