Here is Tom playing the Celtic F 'round at Ian Stephenson "Simpson Street studios." What a combination - great player, great tunes, great recording and great video. Not sure about that beard mind! Nigel www.nkforsterguitars.com/instruments/mandolin/

That really does sound nice. To my ears, there's a hint of the bluegrass F5 sound in the trebles, but the sound as a whole is sweeter and more open. Lovely.

Hopefully, I'll get time to make another next year. It's a shame as it would have been nice to record it, it was a stunning guitar.

That's gorgeous Nigel, is that one of your instruments? I have a Joe Foley mandolin made for me in 1992, if I was doing it again I would definitely have a wider fingerboard. I don't know if you remember but we met at the Holy Grail show last year and I invited you to Ireland. The invitation still stands.

I would like to go Nigel, but if it's in October again I will be in Lanzarote for the month, it's great to be retired! That mandolin sounds wonderful, if I ever get good enough on mine to justify it I will contact you. I just love the idea of the wider fingerboard. Hope all is going well with you, take care.

I can't stop listening to these. To me this is what a Celtic mandolin should sound like. Somehow it sounds bigger, like an octave mandolin, and I'm guessing this is the bigger body at work.
Robbie,
Ps. I LOVE the shirt 😉
