Saw this from Dermot Mcilroy on Facebook yesterday, very sad: "Very sad to have just heard of the death of luthier Heiner Dreizehnter. Lovely guy who made wonderful instruments. He visited me last year and we discussed the pros and cons of luthiery." Doesnt Bernard ( Akquarius) have one of his guitars? It was the superb instrument he built for bassist Ralf Gauk that first got me interested in the idea of an acoustic bass that could work. Robbie

That's a pity, Robbie. You're absolutely right about Bernd - he does have one, and his Dreizehnter is a lovely guitar indeed.

This is very sad news. My Akquarius is a fab guitar and the man who built it was a nice, friendly guy and an expert luthier. During building this guitar we had a lot of conversation and it was a pleasure to comunicate with him. Dreizehnter GuitarsThe video I made for him is still listed in the video audio section. Now even more a great honour for me. Very sad news indeed.

This is indeed a sad loss. I have a Model A in blackwood and met with Heiner a couple of times. I had him build me a matching mandolin which I've since sold, but the Model A was my first keeper.
