I bought my Boss RC-300 Loop Station from Thomann and just just seen that my credit card charges me a foreign exchange fee. Has anyone in the UK here used Paypal to purchase from Thomann? If so, does a fee also get charged, or does Paypal eat the foreign exchange part and the linked card is charged by Paypal in £GBP?
I just placed another big order, but they don't charge cards over the weekend, so I may be able to change it to Paypal before the charge goes through and avoid the banking charges.

Cams , I recently paid for something from the US via PayPal, and was charged in accordance with this: www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/cross-border-and-conversion-fees#currencyconversionIt's considerably cheaper if you fund the PayPal purchase via a credit balance with them, or from a linked bank account, rather than from a credit card where there are additional fees. Either way, you're charged in sterling. I don't recall how the exchange rate they used compared to what rates are out there generally for currency conversion, but wouldn't be surprised if they fixed it so that they make a bit on that too!

Aye, seems they get you either way. The credit card fee is 2.99%. The PayPal fee on the page you linked to is 4.9% plus fixed fee, so it's cheaper just to pay with the card. I went with Thomann because they had everything I needed in once place, but I'll think twice in future. Sure, for small items, no biggie, but if you're spending a lot, as I am, it's expensive.
