I'm pondering doing another Forum Road Trip with a guitar - maybe early next year - as the last one ended prematurely . . . for a very good reason At this stage I'd like to gauge interest/enthusiasm for taking part and also which instrument people would like to go on the trip. I'm thinking of four options: A Terz guitar - "An Féa Caol"A modified dreadnought - "Buachaill Mór"A Small Jumbo - "Daithi"A Concert Sized guitar - "Samhain"Clik the links to see more details of each model.

Ponder no more, davewhite - just do it (as Nike might say. That’s the sportswear firm not the Greek goddess. Although she might’ve said it, too. Who knows? Certainly not me. ) As to which model - that isn’t important. If I absolutely had to choose it’d be the Terz but I’d be interested in being part of the road trip whichever you decide.

OK I voted for Samhain, for three reasons. First I love concert size guitars, second I have always liked the way this guitar looks with the reverse colours that you normally see, and finally no-one had voted for Samhain and I felt sorry for it. As I'm not going to be part of the road trip, then I expect to be ignored, so what's new!

Colin - people ignore you at their peril Just to be clear if I do the Road Trip it will be with a guitar specially made for the Road Trip and I'll document its creation on the Forum before the Road Trip starts. It's a view as to which model people would like that I'm after and also who would be up for taking part in the Road Trip.

I voted for Daithi, but only because it's the model I've played least. I'd vote for all four if I could - they are all are gorgeous and very different instruments. I'd be more than happy to inflict a proper tuning on anything you're kind enough to circulate, Dave - yet another most generous offer - thank you! Keith

Thanks Dave...yet another incredibly generous offer! I voted for Daithi but I'd be equally happy with Samhain....and would very much like to take part whichever instrument ends up being chosen.

My vote went for Samhain Dave, but as others have said my vote is principally for the road trip itself!

I must admit, I would love to try the terz. Although you could say that a terz is just simply a “normal” guitar capoed up, my experience of playing them (namely a rather lovely Pono recently) is that they have a sound all of their own. They sound just devine in alternate tunings and have a punch and sparkle that is very different from a capoed guitar, even if they are exactly the same key.
