I had a Gretsch Jim Dandy which I really enjoyed and was fun to play (but subsequently sold) I also have a Vintage V300 which I play most days in various tunings
Both cheap - both very usable.

Sorry Martin... just catching up with this thread! I'll have a trip out to Corstorphine over the hols and see if it's still there.

Stringy, I have a little Cort L900p that I no longer play. It’s cedar over rosewood, I think. They don’t make them any more but we’re about 500 quid when they did. I’d be prepared to let it go for 250, and you can have it for a while on appro if you like. I’m not desperate to flog it, but it’s just taking up space. scorpiodog - a thousand apologies for not replying sooner... I'd completely forgotten about this thread that I'd started... d'oh. That certainly sounds interesting. I'm gonna have to postpone this purchase while me overdraft recovers from various things, but I may well be in touch after the New Year about this. Cheers, Stringy

Again, sorry about the delay in replying Martin. That does look interesting... Maybe I could come over and have a look sometime if it's still for sale?

I've just reduced it again for a pre-Xmas incentive, but if you'd like it, I'll hold that price for you until you decide and you can try before you buy

I am completely rooked at the moment and the likelihood is I won't even have £175 to spend until well into the new year. Would be good to have a meet up sometime tho, and if you still have the wee guitar I can have a look at the same time.

No problem, please don't feel under any pressure either! I got it for my nephew who I thought would snap it up, but he went and bought an electric guitar without telling me, so I have it spare - that's why it's still in the box! Be great to catch up for a natter anyway, regardless

Cheers, Stringy Stringy, you don't have to buy it. Take it on appro for a while and if you want it pay me when you can. If not, send it back. But it's not being played at all at the mo and that's a shame. Mind you, I'm not going to be able to send it to you til January now, but let me know whether you would like to try it out for a few months.

I certainly wouldn't mind having a go and trying it in Nashville if that was ok with you? I'm not that familiar with Cort guitars tbh. I'll get back to you in the new year about it. Cheers, Gordon

Cheers, Gordon No, It's plain top (cedar, I think). I hadn't seen the sunburst one until I just googled it. It's pretty in sunburst isn't it? I didn't know they'd started selling them again. And at Richards they're a really great price. They were £500 when I bought mine. here's the link to what I sawI think I'd better adjust my ideas of price for my second hand one. Looking forward to your communication in January. You are welcome just to borrow it if you like. Cheers Paul
