The last guitar I sent cost £73 with £1,100 of insurance through UPS Economy and that was about the best deal I could find at the time. (That was £21.59 courier and £51.60 for the extra insurance)
My own experiences plus the comments in this thread makes me wonder how or even if all the guitars being posted around the country from eBay and other internet sales are adequately or even insured at all.

I picked up a guitar in Ebsfleet near London last week. Round trip by train from Rochdale £61 and no worrrying.

The last time I shipped an acoustic guitar I used myhermes which cost around £20 including insurance etc. Arrived at recipient in one piece!
