It is a long time since I watched this, I shot the video at a Martin Simpson Workshop in 2009.
I had forgotten how good this is
Next time I think of selling my Sobell New World please remind me about this!

I was there - and it was / is great. Just returned from another stonking workshop weekend in sunny Sheffield helping MS out with the stuff that requires organisational ability rather than raw musical ability. Absolutely wonderful bunch of people and some seriously great talent on display during the evening sessions. There were no less than six of Stefan Sobell's wonderful guitars as well as a Cuban Hog Bown and two of Rosie's (plus the girl herself).
Can't wait for the upcoming weekend chez Scorpio Dog...
Cheers,
Ian

The sad part is when I reflect on what progress I have made since 2009 the answer is, not much. I need to retire!

The workshops are great experiences. One of the great thing about Simpson is his commitment to teaching. These workshops are not cheap but they are great value for money!

I saw him at Hitchin Folk club not so long ago - he was about six feet away from me - and was amazing. He played a very substantial Martin the sound of which was hugely impressive (as was his playing).

He owns a very nice vintage Martin, but I guess he hasn't started taking it on the road..?
