I think we should be very careful expressing our personal opinion about a shop, an individual in a shop or a luthier in a public forum. Private conversations about individual experience are one thing but we need to remember that a bunch of negative personal opinions can have a serious effect on the viability of a business. On other forums I have seen terrible comments about organisations and individuals I know well and am aware of the whole story or have dealt with that organisation and been very impressed. If you don’t like an organisation don’t use them but don’t risk putting them out of business as a reprisal. Would any of us want to lose TNAG or TAMCO. I doubt it.

I’ve looked through the thread again and kind find any comments that are THAT controversial, and certainly not critical of the service that any company provides. There has been some gentle banter about the number of sales TNAG has- you’ve got to admit, it’s quite funny! But in no way was that remark meant to be crtitical of the service that they offer. In the interest of balance I also poked a little fun at Tamco’s Facebook presence. I am, though genuinely pleased that Yrevor has found someone with the passion to really celebrate what Tamco does, and provide a news service that is interesting, informative, but with a terrible taste in puns!!
As for whether we would miss them if they were gone, yes I guess we would. I have been a customer of Trevor’s for years. I’m afraid I’ll never be able to afford to buy anything from TNAG, but then I’m not their sort of target market anyway. But in no way were any comments made by me meant to be a criticism of what TNAG or TAMCo do. In fact I was quite complementary of Tamco and Ivor Mairants.

Yeh it’s becoming a farce with TNAG, not only do they keep having a sale, but they keep extending them. Think I will stop following them on Facebook- it’s not even as if I can afford anything from them anyway! And agree, Ivor Mairants is always worth a pilgrimage to! Also nice to see TAMCO doing so well these days, thanks to a little more regular updates on Facebook. Robbie If it wasn’t for the occasional Clive Carroll video/interview, I’d ‘unfollow’ them on Facebook, Robbie. The champagne and canapés are clearly aimed at their ‘target clientele’. For the rest of us, it’s more a case of ‘conna pay’ (those sort of prices)... 😉 I bought 2 guitars from TAMCO, geat to deal with.
