Hi Folks
I'm looking for some recommendations please for a North West based Luthier / Technician to help me with those jobs that crop up from time to time and are beyond my comfort zone! For many (many!) years I have used the services of the wonderful Ged Green in South Manchester, but Ged has now pretty much retired so I need to find his replacement. (Ged, if you see this, THANK YOU very much for all of the great work you have done for me over the years).
(In particular, I'm looking for somebody to assist with the installation of some "Dazzo" pickups, so I would be particularly keen to know if anybody has had such an an installation done, and who did it. Would be happy to look outside of my area for this if necessary).
I'm actually based in South Cheshire, so I would also consider Staffordshire / Shropshire if appropriate.
Many thanks,
Andy

Many thanks, Andy I'm in the same boat as you Andy, Ged was my go-to guy for any guitar related work, very knowledgeable and great guy to talk to. I posted a similar request last week, have since exchanged emails with Jim Fleeting. He seems a very sound bet and any future work will be going to him.

I've also spoken with Jim - he seems like a good guy, I liked his attitude and approach. Will be popping over to Stockport mid June!

+1 for Jim Fleeting. I've used him a couple of times to sort finish issues with my Fischer Concerto. He's also good mates with Tom Sands...
Cheers,
Ian

yes, I thought the same. No hurry J John, I’ve now spoken to Phil and he was indeed on holiday. He didn’t recognise your name though, and didn’t think he’d seen an email from you. He suggests you resend it or, better still, give him a call on the number on his website.

www.jacksinstrumentservices.com/ I came across this site this week, I am sure this guy does the setup work for Forsyth 's, if he is he must have set my Brook Taw up which I have to say is perfect. John

Indeed I have. He sorted out my daughter’s Breedlove Passport which needed a full set up.
Did a great job - wasn’t quick but I wasn’t in a hurry so I didn’t ask for quick.
Decent price, too, I thought.
Recommended.

Update - Jim Fleeting has just undertaken some work for me, and I couldn't be more impressed.
Wonderful attitude, fabulous attention to detail, and he even came up with an unbelievably creative solution to a challenging wiring conundrum.
Nice bloke too!
