I injured my left elbow (hyperextended says gp). Sore arm....pins and needles in fingers. Getting better with heat treatment and compression bandage. Could take up to 6 weeks to get back to some kind of normality. Maybe time to say goodbye to guitar anyway. I was just strumming away anyway getting nowhere fast. Yeah......it looks like my body is telling me it's time to end my love /hate relationship with guitars.

Oooh nasty. Here's hoping for a swift recovery. Don't give up on guitar - you'll get back to it!

I chopped the end of my finger off three years ago, I thought the same, but with some perseverance and adjustments, I am back into it.
Don't give up.

The enchanting lure of the guitar has beguiled me (again) and I've stopped looking at him/her/it on the stand and playing whatever I can. Which to be honest didn't sound too good before the elbow injury.
I've had to (temporarily I hope) alter my thumb position when playing full barre chords to a position that is generally frowned upon by tutors and players alike. Thumb points along the length of the neck towards the headstock rather than the 'usual' upwards and across the neck. It feels more comfy and less painful like that.
At least I can bang out a few chords now.......shredding may take a little longer to return!
Look after your elbows and fingers folks. Never take your guitar playing health for granted.

Glad you’re back at it, @stanleyaccrington . As for tutors/teachers and what have you... if it works for you, it works

Good news that you're on the mend and back to some playing again. Wise words about guitar playing health - not to be taken for granted for sure. Mark
