Beautiful, especially the rippling back.

Loving this build. I’ve only seen one striped back before, by David Anthony Reid I think, in Ivor Mairant’s. Thanks. You will see a picture of Reid's guitar in my mood board on the first post. I think DAR's work is quite amazing at an aesthetic level. If they sound even 10% as good as they look then no wonder they sell for so much. Thank you Alan That looks like the one. It sounded great but out of my reach at the time. Spoke to David and he seemed like a very nice guy. I’m enjoying this build thread so thanks, and keep the posts coming please.

Matthew 20. 1-16 As long as I'm content with what I was offered, what happens afterwards is no concern of mine. I've got a whole sermon, well, two, on this if anyone's got 15 minutes Evidently the moral here is that if you procrastinate, it will give you an advantage. The early bird gets the same worm as the late bird. Ah, but the early worm gets eaten…

I actually knew the passage, just not by Chapter and Verse. How much is a denari in euro?

I sold it cheap to a young guy, he had it up for sale for over double what he paid me for it within a few days. I had a D14 custom, the custom being cedar instead of spruce over mahogany. It was nice and mellow, a good all rounder but not spectacular at any one thing. I sold it cheap to a young guy, he had it up for sale for over double what he paid me for it within a few days. Aah, but did he sell it at that price? Second hand Lakewoods seem to remain on sale in Ireland for a very long time, as I'm sure you will agree. Very much doubt it. Gave a great description of it though. I almost wanted to buy it back...

If anybody wants to record a video (you need to be able to get to Liverpool) you can email Mel from the link on the front page I have been bullied/shamed into doing a song… recording next Thursday before the 2nd leg of the Sparta Prague game. If Mel has any sense it won’t see the light of day - but that’s his decision. It is a genuine ‘thing’ - if anyone is within reach of Merseyside, contact Mel and get involved. All you need is an original song… Good man,Leo, and well done to all involved.

Anyone heard of such a finish? It's mentioned in the Gore/Gilet books but no composition given. I've done some 'G**gle' searches but nothing very informative coming up. I like a traditional FP finish but would like something that is a little more resistive to alcohol and the likes (which some musicians seem to consume!). If you know of a branded product or how its made up can you let me know. Cheers Francis
Are you suggesting that doc might spill anything?

Yeah. I’m not going to pretend that I know what redister pins are. I googled it and am none the wiser so I’m back to being the dog watching the conjuror. Those m.o.p. leaves though are beautiful. At least, try to stop drooling.

Brilliant thread,Leo. Sounds like a great way to start lessons - straight to a wonderful player and songwriter! I was there when Steve gave that workshop. I’d never heard of him before, sorry to say, but he was brilliant. I bought a few of his cd’s and have given them plenty of playing time. He came across as not just very talented, but a great communicator. I’m not QUITE as jealous as Paul…. but close enough.

Saw him perform in Dublin last night. Guests included Lúnasa, Tom Paxton, Declan O’Rourke… Excellent show, with Ralph in fine voice. Came across as a very humble, genuine guy too. Great night.
