No worries Andy, still consider myself a beginner really and not explored much about open tunings yet. Did have it in DADGAD a couple of times and loved the sound, but all of my practice is in regular tuning, only have one guitar, and was a nightmare to keep retuning it. Answer is, I need another guitar eventually, so I can keep one for alternate tunings.

Yeah, saving for a Lowden, possibly 35 or 50 range so trying to get about £5.5k together is gonna take some time!

Yes, I have been thinking about the 32s, they are around that price too (Sitka and Rosewood, I think the 25 is Cedar and Mahogany?) Will all depend on how much it's burning a hole when I reach that amount, haha.

32 is spruce/rosewood. 25 is cedar/rosewood. 23 is cedar/walnut. 22 is cedar/mahogany. All truly scrumptious!
All the best with the saving!
Keith

Gregg Hermetech it's why I play (mainly0 in open tunings. I was being a little facetious but only a little ... wish I was a guitar legend genius then I wouldn't need to ask seemingly stupid questions . dicky

I wouldn't know anything about that. I just play the same scale whichever tuning I am in.

“Seemingly” is right, dicky. I used to think there were such things as stupid questions, there are not - not these days! You ask away my friend, there will always be a good few others in the wings that will be glad you did...!

I can 'only' learn in TAB, as I can't read music notation.
I just start slowly and over weeks of practise just repeat repeat like a dog chasing a stick, until I eventually memorise it.
