I know Resos. Nothing sounds as good as a National Resophonic. They are often on sale on the 'bay. The only quibble I'd have with that is that I would replace 'as good as' with 'like'. :-)

The Reso Troll Blues — has a ring about it ;-) I'll shut up now and leave you to bank your bin for a bit ...

I'll shut up now and leave you to bank your bin for a bit ... Is that a euphemism or just another spell check failure?

I had a little Republican resonator for a while that I enjoyed - nowhere near National prices, played well, sold it to a friend who can play it a zillion times better than I, but here’s a little clip I made when I had it (it was meant to be played straight but I used a lap slide capo)

Hi Flashart, I'm intrigued. What did you decide in the end?

Brutal truth, I decided to keep the Strat. I couldn't justify losing it for a guitar that would only be used on the occasional track. I'm happy with this, and it shows not to make GAS purchases hastily.
