I like Ken Burns's doc's. I have the jazz one, the West, and the Civil war one. They all have their critics but I must admit i really enjoy them. Not sure I'll go for this one, though. It's getting ever harder to find the time to watch these things.
My latest thing is to listen to audio courses from The Great Courses. I can get through the courses pretty rapidly on my commute -sometimes up to four / five lectures in a day. I've just downloaded one on the history of espionage!
The other documentary favourites of mine are Dan Carlin's Hardcore Histories. These are immense and very long - but brilliant - podcats. The one on the Russian Front in WW2 and the one on WW1 were just brilliant and worth six hours of anyone's time.
Sorry... digressed a little there!
