A month ago with permission from my wife I was allowed to add a new guitar to the stable. Over the past few years I’ve sold off allot of things including all my electric guitar gear, my tricone a few acoustics and allot of other stuff, to free up funds for among other things a dishwasher and new tyres for the car. Whilst my other Santa Cruz was in for a refret, I purchased a Santa Cruz 00 Skye from the Acoustic Centre in Melbourne. Just before Santa Cruz upped their prices and the Aussie Dollar continued its slide south against the Green Back. Apart from one OM all my guitars are now 00 sized and I love 12 fretters. I’m also a big fan of Eric Skye’s music. Absolutely beautiful. As I get toward the twilight of my career, I'm thinking of doing the same thing - selling off everything else and getting 'the one' just for me. I love my Brook Torridge, though so may get those fine gentlemen to build me a slothead with 1-7/8" nut and maybe even some cocobolo, although I've long been a mahogany fan and could live with that (the back and sides of my Torridge were salvaged from the doors of the council offices in Exeter according to Simon and are beautiful). We'll see how things pan out. BTW - I'm also a huge Eric Skye fan.

Very nice! The chap I work with has a Bashkin and a Santa Cruz, but the other way round, his Bashkin is cocobolo and his Santa Cruz has a redwood top. Yours looks stunning!

Nearly 7 months in and this guitar just keeps getting better. I’m also a convert on Santa Cruz low tension strings. I use them on most of my guitars, not onthe Waterloo’s though.

If that guitar sounds anywhere near as nice as it looks, which I'm certain it does, then it's a truly wonderful instrument. I'm very envious as I think slot headed 12 fretters are the bees knees.

Lovely looking guitar. 12-fretters tick a lot of the right boxes! Mark
