My main instrument is: probably needing new strings

A guy turned up at our monthly acoustic night on Friday with one of these. It has a built-in guitar holder. After we'd all taken the p*** out of it, he let us use it and I fully expect to see a whole row of them there next month, along with mine (due to arrive Tuesday). It's lightweight and comfortable. Recommended. I've got one of those... currently looking after my francis octave mandolin. They're both great

I have one also. It's not bad, though the obvious drawback is that when you aren't playing, and it's being used as a stand, you can't sit on it.

I had always wondered why I'm feeling so comfy when trying a guitar in a shop, sitting on a bar stool.
So I got myself a 76cm bar stool, I think it has a Cordoba decal, and I'm quite happy with it. the size is perfect for me (I'm 6"06'). foot rest is perfect. stools like that one are not so expensive.

I also have the guitar-stand-holder-stool and have used it a lot. It's very well made but it does tend to make my bum a bit numb after sitting on it for about 15 mins so I've stopped it using it at gigs. Just last weekend I picked up an Ikea Franklin stool for free from Freecycle but haven't used it at a gig yet. It's very sturdy and the foot rest seems well positioned. It's tested up to 110kg so good if yer a fat ~$%^&*%^ like me. A friend gigs with one and loves it. This is the one, it also comes in black: Ikea Franklin Stool

The important this is tat you upper tigh (ooh missus!) is parallel with the floor. see : A good video but I find —over the years — that everytime I correct something that is uncomfortable I'm OK for a while and then something else crops up somewhere else on the body!
Over the yearsd I've had back pain from playing standing up. I've had pain across the back of my hands which I traced to playing a wide guitar so I moved to an OM. I then could deal with a deeper body if it had a Manzer wedge. During lockdown I've developed quite a regular pain in my right shoulder.
If I was a horse I would have been put down years ago.

Last stool I had folded up on me midway through playing my classical. I can laugh at it now... I'd like one of those bar stool types, and somewhere to put it.

This is how I made a temporary repair to mine: The bar that connected the "tripod" to the main "trunk" sheared so I used an old bike stem to support the seat
