Hi,
Wondering if this would be fun and be a long-time runner?
What are your favorite lyric lines? Any subject, genre; happy, funny, sad, deep and meaningful, or just plain beautiful lines. No rules really apart from it should try to be one line only, or maximum 2 lines to give context or completion. Only three entries from different songs per post, but post as often as you like. No continuity from previous posts needed necessarily.
Here's 3 from me to get started ....
Lindisfarne, Fog on the Tyne. 'Sittin in a sleazy snack-bar suckin sickly sausage rolls'
Kris Kristopherson, Sunday Mornin' Coming Down. 'Well I woke up Sunday morning with no way to hold my head that didn't hurt And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad so I had another for dessert' Victoria Wood. The Ballad of Barry and Freda (Let's Do It). 'Beat me on the bottom with a Woman's Weekly'
Look forward to your ideas.
John

Good call, John. And yes, Kristofferson - could fill the whole thread!
I'm currently enjoying working on Pancho and Lefty by Townes Van Zandt so how about:
"He wore his gun outside his pants, for all the honest world to feel"
Cheers Derek

Great thread John. Here's a couple:
Becky Mills song “I Saw the Sun Today” ‘The wind made crisp packets dance on the green, Seagulls respond like polystyrene’
and the immortal Roy Harper song Nobody's got any money in the summer 'And looking no cleaner, Than a Chinese wrestler's jockstrap cooked in chip fat on a greasy day'

"Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away..." Macca
"They paved paradise And put up a parking lot" Joni Mitchell
...must be more!
