Then listen now to what I say Just get an electric guitar Then take some time and learn how to play I'm probably the only person to buy an electric guitar so that I can play more quietly but I'm often up way before my family and want something that I can play without disturbing the family. Frustratingly I only had time to plug it in and check it worked before joining a conference call.

Never been much into electric, though the poseur in me loves the idea. I used to have a Squier Jap Strat which I bought in 1981 when they first came out - it was a lovely guitar and I adored the "in between" sounds. I used it for multitrack taping but then it fell into disuse for some years. I tried to make it "feel" more like an acoustic to play, to match my over heavyfretting hand - blocked off the trem , put 12s with a wound third on, but it still wasn't me. Sold it somewhat reluctantly and bought a bouzouki. All along I though "!I should have bought a Tele - much more suited to an acoustic player." I nearly got one of those 3 pickup teles that Squier did for a while but never did. Still have Tele-lust. And as for sunburst 335s..... Congrats on your Tele , Onechordtrick - may you be very happy together for years to come! Keith

Lovely!
Most mornings it's just me and my unplugged Telecaster. I get hours of practice in before any one else rises. It's a great silent guitar.

delb0y that’s exactly why I bought it. But as well as playing my use acoustic/Celtic stuff, which to be honest it’s not ideal for but great for practice, I’m also exploring rock/blues on it.

Well the replacement arrived and it’s fine. Restrung it today the 0.009 top E set was really too floppy and oiled the fretboard. Really impressed with how both guitars have arrived ready to play: action and intonation spot on had to give the truss rod a tweak when I changed the strings. The fret ends could so with a little work and the. plastic nut was a bit of a mess but I used the ends of the new strings as impromptu nut files. I’ll probably get a decent nut when things are over. But all acceptable for the price.
At he end of the day it’s comfortable to play, even in alternate tunings and it doesn’t disturb the family. So everything I wanted from it.
