Hey everyone,
We've just posted the second video from our most recent session online:
I thought this might be of extra interest as this particular guitar was supplied to me by the UK Distributor with D'addario PB stings rather than the NB ones.
I liked this guitar - completely different to my OM2hT - much more 'present' and with seemingly more bass, but at the same time less 'muddy' (not that my OM is muddy really) - it was quite surprising just how different they were playing them next to each other...

Pretty much my dream guitar. The price tag makes my eyes water more than onions do though.

There was one for sale in Australia the price was north of $10k AUD. It would be much cheaper to buy a second hand one from America and pay the taxes here on arrival.

Pretty much my dream guitar. The price tag makes my eyes water more than onions do though. yeah it's pricey! I'd like one with the Traditional carve personally... Collings had a pretty steep price rise a year or two back - right after I bought my OM2hT actually - I don't think I'd be able to afford one now (particularly with the Collings case!)

Ah, a price rise. That explains the prices of their mandolins now. I looked recently and was shocked.

Nice review. I'd like to try this guitar, but the price is probably unaffordable for me. Does it typically retail for 7k?
It sounded good to me when you were strumming chords. I didn't hear too much string separation like you described.

I didn't hear too much string separation like you described. That's the price the UK distributer gave me - the Adirondack top adds a grand though! It sounded great strummed! But I felt that you had to have your right hand under control - it wasn't like strumming something like a modern D28 or HD28 where you can be a bit loose with your strumming technique, otherwise it got a bit too strident.

I like it a lot, mainly because I like 'plain' guitars. It seems to be quite a 'shouty' guitar to listen to when you strummed, not quite as balanced and tonally nice (in my personal opinion), as my own Lowden, but it did sound nice. It certainly looks like it is worthy of the price tag, looking at the build quality, and how it plays.
