I think it depends on what the "signature" bit is bringing to the party. Sometimes it is a difference in spec other times it is a complete design. A "Les Paul" is a kind of signature model. The Gibson Chet Atkins, Vintage Gordon Giltrap and the recent gorgeous Ernie Ball St. Vincent too.
If I had to draw a list of must have features for a Strat it would pretty much be a "Jeff Beck" model. (Block saddles, compound radius, noiseless pickups)
Frankly, I'm amazed Martin haven't done a limited run of Willie Nelson's "Trigger"

As for the Sheeran range, I guess the success of Faith guitars has focussed the minds of a number of luthiers.

There always seem to be a lot of used Faith guitars for sale - particularly the Venus and Neptune and Mercury. People buy them but I'm not sure how keen they are to keep them.

You'll have to prize both of mine out of my cold, dead hands. Unless I've found something I like better in the interim Seriously I think they provide an affordable stepping stone from beginner models to "good" guitars; all solid woods, well made and finished and great sounding. A gateway drug if you will

I bought a Faith Naked Venus (Hog & Engelman) in 2016 and I still love it dearly, even after getting a Lowden. It might not sound as nice to play all day long, or for fingerstyle, but for recording when you want a dry, chuggy, mid forward rhythm backing that fits easily in the mix, it's just the ticket. Fantastic value for money guitars. At the time I was looking, it was the cheapest all solid I could find. I'd pick up the little Parlour sized Naked one if I ever saw one second hand, no questions.

My guess is that they sell in big numbers, so inevitably you will see a lot for sale second-hand. I had a Venus Eclipse (the one with the frankly appalling 'eclipse' script on the headstock) and sold it not long after I bought the Larrivee. I don't think I've ever regretted selling a guitar more.... I got £400 for it in mint condition and frankly I miss how damned versatile it was, to the point that I might get another.

Onechordtrick Any way you look at it Faith has beena great success; they have blended a fashionable product with a very good sound. I've never played a bad one.

Good Lord! Was Trigger shiny and complete once?
I guess if there was a roadworn version it would cost twice as much!
