I know that a lot of people struggle with photos and frankly it is never straightforward although I can never understand why! I have used Imgur for years and after going through all the photo hosting sites I've found that Imgur seems to be the most reliable and when using BBCode the quality of the upload is really excellent.
I see that there are some really excellent guides out there on the forum regarding posting photos, particularly Martin's really detailed guide, but none that mention Imgur specifically so I thought I would quickly explain how easy it is to post a photo using the BBCode if you are an existing Imgur user.
Once you have the photo on the screen that you wish to post you need to hover your cursor in the top right hand corner of the photo and as if by magic two boxes will appear. One is 'copy link' and the other has 3 dots in a row. Move your cursor over the box with the 3 dots and then left hand click. You will then get 4 options:
Edit Image Share Links Download Image Delete Image
Left hand click on 'Share Links' and another box will appear entitled 'Share Options'. You will then have 4 separate share options.
Share Link HTML Embed BBCode Markdown
Scroll down to 3rd option which is entitled 'BBCode' and left hand click on the 'Copy Link' button highlighted in green. You now have the correct link to the photo you want to post. You then simply go to your post on the forum and press the 'v' key whilst holding down the 'Ctrl' key. The image link will appear in your post. Once you post your thread the imagine will have been inserted. Sounds complicated but isn't, takes about 10 seconds tops.

Thanks surfguy13 for this useful guidance. I'll just add, if you are moderately tech-savvy, it's worth previewing the post and then swapping back to the code view to adjust percentage value that follows width to something that won't break everyone's monitors...

Thanks surfguy13 for this useful guidance. I'll just add, if you are moderately tech-savvy, it's worth previewing the post and then swapping back to the code view to adjust percentage value that follows width to something that won't break everyone's monitors... That's really interesting and I wasn't aware that you could have any sort of control over the width. When I posted some photos on the forum today it did occur to me how 'full' the photos were and had I been aware that there was an option to adjust the percentage value I think I would have done. They were almost too full. Interestingly I don't normally preview my posts as, ages ago, I wrote a long post and added photos etc and then hit preview and everything disappeared!!!!! Probably something I did rather than there being a bug, so have always just read through the post a few times to make 100% sure it is OK and hit create post. I will be brave and try this next time!
