I have been searching for some TAB / songbooks of Anne Briggs songs, but not getting anywhere.
Does anyone know if there have been any released ?
I really want to learn 'tongue in cheek' but I'm struggling to work it out, and looking for TAB. I have seen an old YouTube video of litegauge playing the song, and it sounds quite close to the original, in DADGAD, in fact it's such a lovely version I'll post it up.

I often turn to Anne Briggs albums to find tunes to arrange. Difficult to beat the way she sings lots of those traditional songs.

It may benefit you to do a bit of research my friend. Anne was one of the earliest of the English Folk music revival musicians, of the early 1960's. She travelled to Ireland (well ran away from home) in her teenage years, and travelled around the pubs of Ireland, learning traditional songs from the older Folkies. She then brought her knowledge back to England and taught people like Bert Jansch the songs she had learned. Not only did she have an amazing voice, but also wrote a number of classic Folk songs herself too.

Ah a folkie. I don't know much about folk players. I mean I've heard of Bert Jansch but I couldn't tell you the name of anything he produced.

Its a genre of music I've never got into, which is strange because I love the idea of folk music. Music for everyone, no elitism.

Been listening to 'The Time Has Come' LP a lot again recently, I love the songs and playing, but whoever drenched every single track in reverb ought to be flogged.
This is my fave Anne recoding:
My friend Liz was friends with her in the 60s and lost touch, but recently got back in touch via the wonders of Facebook.

gregghermetech A mate of mine who now lives in Scotland knew her well in London as well of the rest of that folk rock crowd. She’s the only person he sees occasionally now apart from Andy Irvine!

That's cool, maybe Liz might know some of the same people too. She also used to live with ISB in Scotland for a while.

I’m currently working out a banjo version of Willie o winsbury. It’s funny, in my head I had misremembered it as unaccompanied but it’s got strummy (bazouki?) accompaniment

"Original" version of Standing On The Shore, just as lovely as Anne's version. I put original in quotes as there seems to be some dispute as to whether it really was traditional and arranged by Moynihan, or all written by him.
