After 50 years I have a new favourite guitarist. Her originals are brilliant as are her Classical pieces. there are so many young uberplayers out there these days but she is a step ahead and to the side. if she taps it's required - not just a trick. She is the most interesting and inspiring player I have come across for many years. enjoy.

That's incredibly skillful alright. I would love to be able to emulate! But, for my ears anyway, she has sacrificed the syncopation (ragged time) and bounce of the piece on the altar of speed. She's far from alone in that, but when you hear the piece at a more stately pace, and with the right feel, it can be so much more enjoyable as music. As she amply demonstrates here - Many rags were originally played at a fairly leisurely pace, which I think suits them well, and allows the syncopation free rein. Is it just me? Keith
