It's a late sixties look really isn't it, minus the patches and gussets.
I first heard this by John Hartford with a cracking solo by Mike Compton. Apparently the tune is an Old English Morris tune.

Good shout Martin. The girl I left behind me is certainly a tune of some age, as it's interesting Wiki entry confirms - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Girl_I_Left_BehindI've loved everything Emily and Andrew have done, as Mandolin Orange and now Watchhouse. They work so well together; the songs he writes are really good and she is a hot fiddler in both senses. This one of my faves, - and their version of Boots of Spanish leather is spellbinding!
