Sorry if this has featured here before but here's a fascinating tour of the manufacturing process of Hiscox cases. I had one supplied with my Lowden and another with my new Furch. I think they're wonderful.

I'm a big fan of Hiscox cases too, Andy.
My oldest one (1997) had the springs on the catches fail after 15 years or so of intensive use. When I asked Hiscox if I could buy some they sent me a set f.o.c. by return post including fitting instructions and rivets. I did have to buy a pop rivetting tool to fit them, but that was only about a tenner. It turned out to be an easy job to drill out the old rivets to remove the catches, then to rivet the new catches into place.
A more recent case (2015) really needed some extra padded "bumpers" for the guitar to be really secure. These again were sent f.o.c. - though I see they are now listed as aftermarket accessories at a very reasonable price.
Wonderful service!
If they have a weakness at all it relates to the flap covering the bits and pieces compartment which is "hinged" by the material covering it to the rest of the case. These do become partly/completely detached after years of use, but are easily glued back.
I don't have any Artist Series cases so can't comment on the weight, but my Standard and ProII cases are light to carry and I have every faith in them.
Superb British company!

Hiscox cases are great, as are his guitars (see my profile pic ;-) I do find it amusing that they don't make a case for my Hiscox acoustic bass!
I only wish Calton still had a presence in this country. I had great service from Keith Calton for the one I got for my Lowden in 1982, and I'd love to get someone over here to service it.

The guitar case world was rocked a few months ago, when Calton (no longer owned by Mr Calton, and in Texas) merged with Hoffee into a new company. Their high end offerings (Hoffee cases are over £1,000) are now complemented by Hiscox, as the new merged US business became the North American distributor for Hiscox cases. I hope this gives them a boost, as I suspect conditions are not easy for a specialist artisanal manufacturer in the UK.
