Just received my copy - apart from the Bronco-like paper (older members will understand, and may even use it for similar purposes!!) and the cover picture, I have to say that it does actually look like it might be quite a good edition.
Paul's 12string column looks good, and the AcousticLife (half-) page is still there - with answers to the question about alternate tunings. Next month might be interesting! (Or, more likely, have yet another half-page of ads.) Sadly, Paul's Vintage Guitar section is down to one page.
But, on the positive side, there is a Workshop feature on Steve Toon guitars; and there are Lowden and Brook reviews too.
There's a Clive Carroll arrangement that might actually be playable by humans, though maybe in a slowed down and simplified form.
I might even force myself to read the Slash article, but suspect I'm more likely to enjoy reading about The Old Crow Medicine Show and Kris Kristofferson!
Still to much white on black print and "clever eyecatching" layout which all contribute to making it quite a strain to look at sometimes.
However, I'll try to keep an open mind.....

Sadly, I can remember Bronco paper. Once used, never forgotten - in my case, it had OHMS stamped on every sheet. Memories such as this bring a warm glow, though perhaps not where some might think.
I got my copy today and agree with all you say, both positive and negative. I fear our similar views about design may be a generational trait and antediluvian desire for substance over style.
Back to reading it...

yeah, picked up my copy today from the local newsagent! I thought that you subscribers got it a week or so before us plebs who only pick a copy locally.
I do agree the content looks interesting and certainly "varied"!! But Clive's piece certainly does look playable by us mere humans, so I'm going to give it a good try.
Will be very interesting to see what might be in next months issue!!
