Now you're talking! One of my favourite tunes - and very nicely done too. Hope you don't mind me sneaking an older recording of my effort at it in here too - on the yew b/s Butterfly from Dave White's Double Road Trip a couple of years back. app.box.com/s/889ojqi6hegopx32tu02Good to hear your discomfort is not too bad!! Keith Strewth!!! if I had heard this before I had a crack at it I wouldn't have bothered trying it myself The sheer musicality (if there is such a word) is magic and it really shows why I don't try to arrange more tunes myself. Ah well, I bow to the master once again Phil

I was a sufferer many years ago when I was banging nails in all day and spey casting at weekends . Trust me rest it as if you don't it will take much longer to heal and having austio arthritis I spend at least part of every day in agony all Barr the fact I swallow extremely strong drugs . I'm so glad its not affected the right elbow or hands but keep thinking that if I'd not rested then it would have . I wish you a speedy recovery and sympathise with your discomfort . Anti inflamatorys and pain relief as well as rest is the order unless you fancy a shot of acupuncture .

Hi Phil,
I'm sorry to hear that you're still experiencing pain... and that it's not just in one place. Can I ask what the benefit is of playing with a strap?
Hope you get some improvement soon.
All the best, marcus

Sorry to hear that Phil - it's a long time you've been having to live with this.
Glad to hear that you've had the OK to keep playing. Your talent with the guitar should not be silenced.
Hope things start to get better soon.
Mark

I'm glad you posted that as a link Phil... otherwise I would really have been confused as to how a strap to your boots could relieve tennis elbow from playing guitar

I wonder Phil if you have any idea what caused it? I do wonder given the lack of improvement over several months, if the aggravating cause may still be present... if it's not the guitar maybe worth looking at what else might still be aggravating it? Or perhaps there's some kind of a brace to sleep in and give it proper rest? ( I know wrist braces worn at night saved me from having surgery on my carpal tunnels years ago when I messed them up by using the computer mouse all day. (that and I haven't used a computer mouse since).

Thanks for the help CB A severe dose of decorating brought it on and I do wear an elastic thingymebob sleeping............ and unless I'm mistaken I have felt some improvement over the last couple of days. Increase the exercise weight from a 250g tin of spam to a 400g tin of condensed milk Phil
