Glad you enjoyed and weren't offended! (I didn't think you would be or I wouldn't have posted it, but glad to have confirmation!)

Phil - had a mammoth playing session the other day by the end of which I was convinced my elbow was playing up! Auto suggestion? Sympathy? Solidarity? Donno.

Now I know what tennis elbow feels like Had to put the guitar away after 1 minute of playing. It hurts and I definitely do not like it. I only have to blame myself, though. I guess I got this from playing the strong guy and carrying heavy parcels with catalogues with just one hand. Serves me right

These sort of things catch up with me rather too often these days. Note to self - don't forget you're no longer young and fit Mark. Hope it eases off quick Bernd. Mark

Thank you for your kind words, Leo and Mark. Looks as if the dusty end of my guitar necks will start at the first fret for the next couple of weeks However, I like to think positive, therefore there's already a new instrument (which can be played without causing any pain) on its way to me to help me surviving the guitar-less time which lies ahead of me

Always sorry to read of someone having to stop playing because of injury or pain. For what it's worth, when I got tennis elbow whilst playing intensively and professionally, I went to the doctor. He realised that stopping playing was not an option and made a very helpful suggestion. He advised me to adjust the length of my guitar strap slightly in either direction. This would change all my joint angles (shoulder, elbow, wrist) slightly. I gave it a go and lo and behold- pain gone very quickly!

Just had a steroid injection in my right elbow. It has slowly improved with the exercises over past the 6 months or so but still not right yet. Mind you I don't think planning the bottom of a door due to new carpets last week helped Phil

Ouch Phil Taylor. Those things hurt, especially if you don't do needles like me! I had one in my shoulder eighteen months back. It worked though and I haven't had trouble since (touch wood). Hope it works for you Phil, this has gone on long enough. Arthur
