Doug Young is very generous with his time and advice, and his albums have a lovely guitar sound. If you have basic gear (microphone or device with mic built in, and some sort of recording software) I think most people would find this useful: Even if you've got less sophisticated gear than the stuff used here, some of the discussion about effects and settings is transferable. When I was struggling with beginning the recording process he gave some great and detailed advice, and even took the trouble to put up a link to one of his tracks recorded with very cheap gear. www.acousticguitarforum.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3230455&postcount=20I found it very useful. Note that he (and most other home recording experts I can think of) emphasise that the room and room treatment are at least as important as the technology. Kym
