Went down to see this tribute band at local Mansfield theatre on Friday night. Musicianship was pretty good and energy and the lead singer did the vocals well; didn't try an exact copy of K's uncopyable vocals but was near enough to make it enjoyable. Plenty of energy although lacking in any form of audience engagement. (Introduction of the band by name at the penultimate number was first bit of talking). But they got a very good ovation and deserved it.
We were discussing on the way home what the missing 'magic' ingredient is that differentiates this sort of group from the real thing; hard to put your finger on it but it wasn't there. Nevertheless an enjoyable musical evening and excellent value at £15.00.
