Thought I'd share with everyone my under-finger fondness for these strings, and give them a strong recommendation. According to the marketing blurb, because they have an elliptical winding wrap around the core wire they can last 5x longer than standard strings, and are a giant leap forward in the evolution of string technology. Hmmm, well I don't know about that. But I sure know that they sound as good as any other strings I've tried, and the key thing for me is that they really do last so much longer than conventionally wound strings. Its that elliptical winding you know. My body chemistry can turn new strings to rust in no time, and I'm just not a fan of coated strings. These strings work well for me, sound and feel great, and are well priced. Tried both PB and 80/20 and both sets were excellent. I can't promise that you'll experience the same smokey undertones with hints of sun dried cherry tomatoes and oak barrels as I do, or even hear the same lemonade sparkly high end with shimmering elements of choral angels singing babies to sleep with their sweet lullabies. But I can promise* that you'll love these strings, and that they will last so much longer than your conventional strings. *promises made are not based on actual promises. Matt

Thanks for the heads-up on these, Matt. At the rate I change strings, I may not get around to these for a while, but they're on my list to try! I did notice, though, that they seem to be a LOT cheaper in the USA than here. Disappointing as I thought I'd found a bargain

I'd hummed and hawed about - yes that is how you spell hum and haw apparently, it stinks doesn't it - what was I saying... I've hummed and hawed about these strings for a long time because I like the idea going by the blurb, but why is there a 25 gauge G string in there in the set of 12's. This brand and Martin, and Cleartone, what are they playing at. That's just like a skinny fourth string.
Apparently these will feel a bit tighter, even though it will benefit tone.
I don't think I'll ever get round to them as the gauges fall outside of what I want, it's a swine. Always the way.

Have you noticed how Primark underpants can actually fall down while you're sitting down. They defy the laws of physics. Seems scandalous you can get four pairs of these miracle undies for a fiver - the technnology that must go into this...
