Not long back from SK's GYOG at South Brent [South Devon] village hall... He's done over 100 of these over the last year or so... If tonight's gig was an even average example he should be applauded for innovative thinking outside the conventional box... I'd guess from the the number of people knowing the choruses to "Cousin Jack"...the second encore..."Transported" plus a few other well known [to SOH fans] songs that at least half the audience were SK/SOH newbies...I suspect from the applause they'll repeat the experience. Good for him....an excellent evening with wide ranging appeal. Super live sound [Bose L1's] from his David Oddy guitar, mandocello, tenor guitar and cuatro plus some new arrangements of old favourites interspersed with good humoured story telling.

Yup, saw him at Ellesmere Port last Thursday. He's really thought out the way to present his music very effectively and to encourage local people to put on a high quality gig.

Have seen him twice in this mode over the last year. He gets a great sound from that dual Bose system!
