I regret having to report that Wilco's song to close tonight's programme was probably the worst televised live performance by a professional that I have ever seen.
The key was too high so his vocals were a semitone flat throughout and he completely fluffed the guitar solo. It was very sad.
His interview was good though.

I missed this but thanks for drawing attention - just caught it on BBC iPlayer. I've seen Wilko Johnson playing several times, though the last time might be 20 years ago now, but that One Show performance is pretty much as I remember it  I liked it! |

I saw him about 5 years ago and he was brilliant. As we said it's very hard to get up and do a performance cold like that. Throw in poor studio monitoring and he's on a hiding to nothing. Glad you liked it but I suspect you're in a very small minority  |
