While enjoying my weekly Sunday stroll around the local shopping centre today , I happened across a few local traders with stalls set up in the middle of the thoroughfare. One was selling what seemed to be reclaimed wood, repurposed as a variety of different items including cheeseboards, carving boards, clocks and whisky tables. Among these I noticed a couple of cool looking instrument stands. My long-suffering wife suggested I get one (an early father's Day pressie) and proceeded to buy it for me! I've now got it home, and it seems perfect to sit in the living room, giving CBM a classy place to hang out It's very simply made, with a stave from a Glenmorangie whisky barrel screwed into a piece of sanded and polished black walnut (salvaged from a tree in Elgin). A guitar hanger has then been fitted to the top of the stave. Interesting, attractive and practical - I love it

Very nice!
Much cooler than than the hercules stands I have cluttering the house up and making it look more like a shop. I've got a couple of spare hangers, I might have a go at making something similar in the summer.

That's way cool Shame you didn't get the rest of the whisky barrel . . . or the contents

Love it! Does it still smell of its previous contents?

Very classy looking - beats the usual black metal and rubber commercial stands by miles. Mark

That's really quite nice Martin I recognise the actual hanger - its a Stagg I think, like those on my wall Phil

The hangers are all stock, most likely Stagg as you say Phil, but this one is the only one I've seen of this type in the makers range. He usually uses the ones with the black metal disc mount, so I was chuffed to get one with a wooden mount.
