Hi everyone!
My name is Ria Timkin, I am a Moscow-born singer-songwriter, who crafts her observations about life into upbeat folksy pop songs, with beautiful and distinctive vocals.
I am going to be a qualified solicitor at a Magic Circle firm. Eventually. In the meantime, I write songs about ups and downs of the young adulthood and play them at the local venues with a little help from my loop station and Martin, the Guitar. I was a professional figure skater, sang in a choir, volunteered at the Olympics 2014, and taught myself how to play the guitar via YouTube. I started my music career in September 2014 when I moved to Bristol. It's been very encouraging so far. I am going to play at the Bristol Harbour Festival on Sunday at 12:00 on the Cascade Stage, so if you are available, drop in to say hi. I hope the weather is going to be lovely
Here are some links on my music, I hope you will enjoy it:
www.facebook.com/RiaTimkinMusic - my most important, most precious source of all the updates;
soundcloud.com/riatimkin - Home Made Production mixed with live radio records;
twitter.com/RiaTimkin - I mostly complain about my law degree and review Bristol's music scene there;
www.youtube.com/channel/UCXeK_HukkeD6D0zyMfp4xQAv - every artist should have a few embarrassing videos of their first performances.
PS Unfortunately, I can't answer properly why I want to be a professional musician. I choose to believe it's just what I am meant to do. Everything I've achieved in life so far has been done with my music career development in the back of my mind (Even my law degree, it's cool to know what you are about to sign, right?)
I started singing even before I started properly talking, and you can find a wonderful collection of my incredibly embarrassing lyrics on different topics from different stages of my life in my parents' house. I have always had this fixed idea that I will be a musician, so when I matured enough, I moved from my parents to the city that is famous for its music scene.
