My latest completed project just for a little bit of fun. Anyone else messed around with a uBass? Just have to learn how to play it now.

Looks delightful. Can't help you with the playing side of things...

I made this one using oak from an old chest of drawers: And this one from some mahogany from an old table: They are fun to play - sound like a full size upright bass when plugged in.

These will be nice, too, davewhite, once you've got the frets on.

--it's just great fretless Rob - pretty authentic double bass vibe when plugged in.

Continuing on the recycling theme, Dave, mine is made from an old Brazilian mahogany window frame. Fretless may may be a step too far for me playing wise.

............... Fretless may may be a step too far for me playing wise. Small coloured stickers at theoretical 5th and 7th fret positions helps, but you'd be surprised how quickly you adapt even without them. You can get that authentic double bass not-quite-in tune sound very easily if you want, or slight finger adjustment quickly and you've got it. And slides up to notes are fab. Keith

Keith Cheers Keith Perhaps I'll make a fretless one, just to see if I can get on with it. It looks like this one will be finding a new home already Just when I was starting to enjoy it... Steve.
