I wouldn't want to bury the patient before we have a death certificate, nor hasten the demise by withdrawing care.... Keith Aye, I know, I just got a tad depressed which something which the magazine publishers should have recognised as valuable, good advertising and building brand support should seem to be so undervalued as to be left mostly derelict. I've made so many good (if virtual or once a year) friends here, the 'Guitars for Palestine' project ... all just seemed to be nonchalantly brushed aside. The song was triggered by yet another email from 'Jethro'... and I played with the rhyme 'Jethro'll/death roll' but that particular incarnation came out as just too dark - I don't want to out-cohen Cohen! I couldn't get it as light-hearted as I wanted it to be but there you go... it'll be back to jokes from hereon in, I hope

Nice one Leo, and so true. Can't miss the irony that a magazine that inadvertently fostered one of the most vital communities on the web doesn't appear to value it.

Cracking stuff Leo ! ;D But.....though the situation is obviously critical, I wouldn't want to bury the patient before we have a death certificate, nor hasten the demise by withdrawing care.... Keith Yes ..agree with you there Keith. I was a bit surprised though by a comment that 12er made in his one of his posts on his "Is your guitar case like a Passport thread" on ALF...he said he was expecting the thread to "go down like a lead balloon".. It's a shame if that is the perception /expectation that prospective posters might have. Maybe the ALF has a bit of an image problem...not sure what can be done to change that.

I suspect that in his previous incarnation as Breedlover, a certain person who doesn't play in our yard anymore thank goodness might have been less than kind at some stage....
I doubt that ALF is perceived negatively by the majority Andrew- in fact many comment on it's friendliness compared to other places.

Ah..that explains it then. I'm pleased to see that that situation seems to have solved itself.

I wonder if 12er just meant that the forum post rate is pretty low these days, Andrew. Lack of time apart, access and log in problems certainly put me off going there for a while. It appears to be fixed now though. Hopefully we can wake it up a bit around Christmas.

Unfortunately I can't access Soundclick from work, but I agree that the original forum is dying on it's arse. To be fair, apart from on one or two occasions, the magazine has never paid much attention or care to the forum, so the lastest shambles shouldn't come as a major surprise.
I really hope that this place picks up and is a success. I don't know how we would go about spreading the word, but I hope to see many more ex Acoustic Lifers over here, and as many new users as possible.
