Thanks again robmc, davewhite and ocarolan. I did think that this was my best attempt thus far at capturing what I hear as the tone of An Féa Caol. It's time to start thinking about returning her home but not before I treat her to some new strings and try to record a few more choons. Cheers Dale

A little rushed but my first posted standard tuning arrangement - the spiritual / Curtis Mayfield song "People Get Ready". FileDale Loved that Dale....such a sweet sound and lovely playing/recording! Showing yet another side to Anthea......and in standard tuning Looking forward to more!!! Glyn

Thanks very much Nuffsed . That was the first tune I played when ocarolan passed her into my grasping hands so the choice seemed appropriate. Have just bought these strings: and I'm hoping that they'll do An Féa Caol (and her sweet treble tones) justice. They were mentioned in another Anthea thread so (hopefully) they'll complement her sound. Cheers Dale

Cheers Glyn. Haven't changed strings yet but here is a short rendition of Laurence Juber's DADGAD version of Greensleeves (with Keith's Newtones): File

This recording is a little boomy due to mic placement (I can't sit in the same position twice, sorry) but I love the way the recording demonstrates davewhite 's guitars' built in reverb. It's a quick arrangement of some of the main parts of Martin Simpson's version of "Granemore Hare. Please check out the original MS recording . His performance had me on the brink of tears the first time I saw him play this song live. FileApologies for the amount of finger noise and a few fluffed notes on this recording. Cheers Dale PS I'm getting rather attached to this little guitar.

Thanks davewhite. There's absolutely no treatment on this recording (or any since the first post). It's raw, straight as it went into the mic but you can hear An Féa Caol's natural reverb / resonance. Still didn't capture that high end sweetness though. Will change the strings tomorrow and continue recording during the coming week. Cheers and thanks for this opportunity, Dale

More proof, not that is needed, that this is a special guitar. Excellent playing and lovely sounds again, and I'm struggling to spot the errors you mention Dale! Mark

Many thanks vikingblues. There are a few dodgy left hand frettings that prevent notes ringing, a poorly struck harmonic and a missed bass note in the ascending chord sequence (for a start). However, I loved the way this recording caught the guitar's built in 'reverb' and sustain. Thanks again Mark, Dale

Finally, An Féa Caol has some fresh strings! Now to try some recording - "Ashokan Farewell" I think. Dale
