An Féa Caol
Below is a set of photographs I took of the guitar whilst it spent time with me but I'd advise everybody to view davewhite 's own gallery here.
Not for the final time I suspect, I'd like to thank davewhite for entrusting me with An Féa Caol. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

This was my first and only encounter with a “Terz” tuned guitar and my anticipation was only exceeded by the actual experience.
An Féa Caol has a small and very comfortable body which pointed me in the direction of a classical style playing posture (not that I’m a classical player). ocarolan has installed a strap button on the guitar heel (with davewhite ’s permission) and the guitar balances beautifully on a strap. The Lawson’s Cypress (from davewhite ’s own home grown “magical musical tree”) top is very attractively figured and the old cuban mahogany back and sides just look the part perfectly.
The fingerboard width measures approximately 1 3/4 inches and is extremely comfortable to play - going back to my standard width fingerboard Brook Tamar made me stop to wonder where the treble edge of the fingerboard had gone.
The neck is slim and very comfortable and is a gorgeous piece of cuban mahogany. The headstock is pretty and I wish I had set of tuners as attractive and accurate on all of my guitars. The figured rosewood fingerboard added to the appearance aesthetics as do the Madagascan rosewood ‘adornments’. I fell in love with the choice of fret wire on the fingerboard.
Personally, I favour the hand rubbed matte finish as it highlights the wood and not the lacquer.
The guitar sustains for a very, very long time and the tone is sweet and bell-like but balanced and the sound port lets the player hear some of what the ‘audience’ is hearing. It’s one of those instruments that inspires you (me) to experiment and think again about how and what you (I) play.
