Well couldn't do this without a go-bar shot. Main braces glued in place
Main braces without the go-bar poles. these will be shaped before adding the smaller finger braces to give better access
Initial shaping of the main braces, they will be carved again once all the smaller braces are in situ
I've re worked the tail piece using bog oak and the panel timber before inlaying pear. The rosette I felt looked quite boring as the bog oak'smedulary patterns just seemed to disappear - so I added a little inlay to mimic the tailpiece
Hope you like

LOVE the rosette francis . Was always going to like the Celtic themed tailpiece.

The bog oak and pear work really well together ...I very much like the rosette. Are you planning to keep the bog oak theme for the heel cap, headstock veneer etc?

Beautiful and I'm always amazed at how clean you make everything francis. I couldn't build that but even if I could there'd be glue and dark gluey fingerprints everywhere.

The pic of the rosette in place on the top looks very classy... What sort of finish are you planning for the guitar?

Well it's sat like this since Feb '21 (I had put some bindings on at some point?) and this week it's been dusted off and I've re-started the build. Going to be a long road but I've finally got back in the workshop so that's the biggest step forward. TBC'd...
