I'm jealous ... not just of the guitars, but Keith's conservatory is bigger than my house

I'm jealous ... not just of the guitars, but Keith's conservatory is bigger than my house That conservatory is certainly big enough to swing a cat Kostal, but it ain't mine. Nor Jonny's actually - it is attached to the house of one of Jonny's friends in Oxford where the Moss family are temporarily staying for a couple of weeks. It was only a pretend game of guitar conkers as it wouldn't be a fair match - the Kostal is deffo in the heavyweight category whereas the Martin is light flyweight! Enjoyed trying to play the Martin - gorgeously light and responsive, but v loose strings as, among other things, the bridge is beginning to lift. Dr Dave will be giving a check up tomorrow I believe! Thanks again Jonny for letting me look after a very special guitar! Good to see Jonny and Helen again - and thanks for the hospitality and a nice lunch! Also managed a quick "Hello" to both my daughters too. Keith

It was good to see you, too brief as usual, not even enough time to play together. Amongst other things, we chatted about teaching and the RGT conference I attended Sunday and had I spoken to Keith sooner, he would have told me how I shouldn't miss Hugh Burns' session - a caught a brief glimpse of him playing though, phenomenal.
Keith, thanks for filling those nail holes so well! But how will I be able to use a strap now?
Jonny

....................... Keith, thanks for filling those nail holes so well! But how will I be able to use a strap now? Jonny Yes, Polyfilla and felt pen works quite well doesn't it - almost invisible! I still have some suitable rusty nails so I'll post them to you - you could find where I hammered them in by scratching around with the point of one of them in the general area till you find the Polyfilla and then bang away. Or, if you prefer the strap button in a different position (that heel is a bit unusual!) just hammer away wherever you like - if you make a mistake I can thoroughly recommend the Polyfilla and brown felt pen wheeze. Maybe you could pass that on to Jason when next you meet. Keith

Love the photograph. It looks a bit like the Oasis reunion in 10 years or so.

Nice pic, fellas. I'm just disappointed you didn't get time to fit a shelf on the lower bout for resting your arm or reading a small book while playing, Keith.
It's all that guitar really lacks IMO.

Rodders: Keith (wielding the smaller instrument) is demonstrating the classic martial arts technique of turning the attacker's force to his advantage. The bumbag is necessary in this manoeuvre for Keith to maintain his centre of gravity.

Judging by the quick go on the Kostal I had at Keith's I think he'd definitely come off the worse for wear here - nice guitar but it was heavy!

I thought the bum bag might be to protect the groin from an unsportsmanlike blow by Jonny ? Or simply to look very cool The centre of gravity thing makes much more sense
