I can hardly see what yer mithering about. Man up and embrace the mojo. My first ding on my fancy pants Martin was a crack where another guitar "accidentally" fell on it. I say "accidentally" because I'm pretty sure the other guitar was jealous of my new love, but I don't care. I laugh in the face of cracks. LAUGH I tell you!!!!!

Wear the "love bite" with pride. If you are still grieving go to 13.08mins on this Later with Jools episode and look at Richard Thompson's Lowden wit a huge crack on the top from the treble side bridge to the end block - that guitar has Mojo: RT LaterAlternatively carefully put an identical ding in the same place on the other side and claim it was in the wood as you can see the bookmatching. Most of all forget all of that and just play it. Brilliant ! Hmm see what you mean about RT's crack Thanks for that most sound advice Dave.

I feel your pain breedlover. We've all done it, but it doesn't make it any easier. As much as it pains me to look at the 1 inch deep scratch on my pride and joy I still get great pleasure from playing it. If you think your ding is bad spare a thought for Willie Nelson

My guitars can consider themselves lucky to be in much better condition than I am! Mark

Yes still got my sanity breedlover and the scratch is on the top. I've only had it just under 18 months and its got a few more dings in it now and I've also noticed scratches on the back of it to. I've stopped worrying now just enjoy playing it and you should enjoy playing your baby. ?
