Thanks Phil. Here's an updated video, with clearer audio. Can you tell the difference andyhowell ? Yep. And I can hear where the challenge is. There's really big fundamental which is not doubt aimed at projection. Getting the EQ is always a challenge and not quite as straight forward as a sweeter, closer sounding, instrument!

Jonny That wouldn’t help. A monster built for projection :-)

I was speaking with Paul F. yesterday and he told me how his Taut System evolved. Having built many lutes (including one for Julian Bream whilst in David Rubio's workshop), he decided to build a guitar with lute bracing. This form of a lattice pre-dated Smallman's design and is very different.
Smallman's are 'monsters built for projection', playing a Fischer is another experience entirely - no thin trebles and no banjo-like qualities.
He even developed a fan lattice, but I'm sure mine is parallel - a friend owns one and we plan to compare next week, but his is Brazilian, so not like-for-like.

Great guitar and great player to have it. The story about the years of waiting is fascinating

Here's a recording of the Fischer back-to-back with a fan-braced guitar.
In real life the difference is huge, but recorded and compressed on Youtube the extremes are a little closer.

Here actually is a video of the lattice braced Fischer back-to-back with a fan braced guitar by Christopher Dean. There were issues with the recording of the above video, so I made another in a different room with better acoustics. The piece better shows them off too I think.
