I’ll stick with the one I’ve had 40 years.

Had a go on a Sobell once. It was incredible and I’ll never own one. )0:

That looks rather spiffing, bellyshere. If You don't win a FFG, offer one of these as YOUR prize, and I don't win it... I'd like one That’s a good idea. I’ll do that.

5/8” is a standard bridge height, but it just depends on how you want to set up your banjo. I’ve had bridges at 1/2” or 3/4”, depending on the banjo and the feel I’m after. Holy smokes! Banjo dude set up man it is then. I can just about change strings.

It’s going to pay a visit to a man who knows for a setup.

I might try getting it setup as I’ve no idea if the head tension is wrong.

It’s more intonation that is annoying me now. I think the banjo needs a rethink as an instrument (0: Can I not glue the bridge in place so it doesn’t move when I set the intonation? (0:

Well I’ve had my banjo for a couple of months now. They aren’t half a pain to keep in tune. As for setting the intonation. It’s a real pain. It’s just a Deering good time. Any experience with these? Bridge looks fairly basic. Would an upgrade to that help with tuning issues?

I haven’t had any for about a year. I was only selling with the reduced fees so I guess they’ve sussed me and stopped.

I can’t hear the difference. However, I’m convinced one of my Martins sounds better tuned to 432.

Congratulations bellyshere, I am glad your trip to Eagle Music went well. Good luck with the playing: yeee, haww! I’m digging it. My style of guitar playing lends itself to banjo well. I’m feeling like I might have acute BAS though as I’ve already got my eye on another banjo on EBay.

I have at least a dozen banjos. I’m only two junctions further down from where you would turn off to go to Eagle Music. You’re welcome here to get an idea of what you might want before you go to Eagle. They’re mainly Deering dealers, in fact they’re the biggest dealer in the world. They’re nice people and I’ve bought and sold through them several times. They have two of my banjos on consignment at the moment. Anyway you’re very welcome here. I had a Deering Boston 6 sting banjo back around 2000. Like you I thought it would be easier but I didn’t like it . Sold it to John Pearse. We both lived in the USA at the time. Just been today and got this. Lovely people and very knowledgeable. Just off to buy some dungarees now as well. (0:
